I think that you can be inspired by anything.You could be inspired by the colour of thse red tomatoes in a white dish,or by the cast of light and shadows from those windows.It depends on your sensitivites.I have the chance to travel a lot,so i have more opprotunities to be inspired by many different things.I think you have to try to keep yourself open,in a way.It's good thing,but potentially a very bad thing:If you keep yourself open,everything can come in--good things,bad things,all things.So you can be hurt or delighted by anything.
Inspiration,i think,is a fundamental thing for someone creative--everyone has their own way.
Materials are fundamental.In furniture design,you can use hundreds of different materials--at the moment we're using lots of plastics in new ways.Plastic is becoming more and more expressive.I was talking the other day to DESIGNER,and we were talking about the expression of new materials.He was saying that working with chairs gives you many options--transparent chairs,steel chairs,timber chairs,upholstered chairs.You can use whatever you want.
in the bathroom area,it's quite different.Products by companies like BathLeader--the super high segment--are produced by craftspeople using novel materials like wood,stone,and son on.But they are very expensive,because many of them are crafted by hand.it is a small but very refind part of the market.But there is another part of the market--the domestic market.These types of products must fulfil the everyday demands of the mass market.In bathrooms,you can't produce without using some specific materials--ceramic,acrylics,brass for the taps.You can't meet industry standards without using these materials
WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES OF BATHROOM DESIGN?
I know it’s not nice to talk about toilets.but for me it’s quite normal.One of the most difficult things you can try to design is a toilet ! Ceramic is a liquid which is cast into a mould or inject-moulded. When the liquid dries,you open the mould-which can sometimes be very complicated.When the ceramic dries outside the mould,you lose up to 50% of the volume,so you have to calculated exactly what will happen when it dries.
One of the best designs I’ve done in my life is a 1.6 metre console designed for BathLeader.It is totally flat with an asymmetric basin.When I showed it to our CEO and chief of production,I said this is impossible to do at the moment,but if we want to make it happen we will have to find a way.A challenge ! it took one ear and a half—we made hundreds of simulations and prototypes.At the end of the day it was perfect.But you have to realize that this asymmetrical spot inside dries at a different rate in every size.If it dries to quick,it will crack the other side.The process is controlled in an incredible way—if the air is too dry,the piece dries too quick.The production is very complicated.If you don’t have a uniform surface on this piece.it’s obvious.The surface must be perfect.Ceramic is a dangerous animal.

As the statement of some of our customer,it's very tough job to develop the market of russia,since there're many of factory to produce theBathroom Cabinet(Bathroom furniture)by themselves with huge resources of local wood resources,even the work labor costs are much higher than china .However,if the people importing the bathroom furniture from china,they gonna pay lots of importing duty,huge payment of custom house,and especial the high cost of local store warehouse as the customer saids it's around US$150 per square meter.and all the bathroom furniture takes big spaces but can't be stack very high .
Therefore,it's difficult to expand the russia market .However,i saw lots of company from Italy,Spain supply very goodbathroom furnitures,and the russian people seems very interested in it .As our thinking,the primary competitive advanctage of all those european company are QUALITY.all the goods what they display were excellent design and the highest quality for all details .
So we have to pay more attention on the design special for the market and the improve the quality to be the toppest if we keep continue to expand the russia market .

Just back from the 109th Canton Fair .
We didn't have booth at this season Canton Fair due to the unsatisfactory feedback during all previous seasons.However we invited some of buyers to meet at the fair and went to look around it .
The Hall-9/10/11 are special for hardware and construstion material and bathroom products.As our memory,those 3 Hall were crowded enough always and we normally got excellent feedback during the fair .But now,there're few vistor to be there .
So we may consider to go oversea for the market local fair for the future
